Exceptional property with an excellent hostess
In general: A beautiful interesting house not very often found today. Many interesting pieces of furniture which made it feel very homely. Location and surroundings: Excellent location for sightseeing, or whatever your visit entails. Service: The owner was the perfect friendly hostess there was nothing we had to ask for as everything was perfect. She even took care of booking taxis etc. Dining: Breakfast was cooked to perfection with copious tea or coffee if required. It was a leisurely experience with no pressure to vacate. Room: Our large spacious room had exceptional country views, and had everything to give us a comfortable stay. Usual ensuite facilities in the bathroom. Useful tips: There is no limit to the welcome from the owner, she bent over backwards to ensure all her guests were catered for. Although we didn't have a car there was ample secure parking space behind the electrified entrance gates.

We got great value for our money with a spacious and comfortable room. The location was perfect, away from the hustle and bustle but still close enough to the center. The staff was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable.
The breakfast selection could have been improved with more variety.

I recently stayed at Culm Vale Country House for four days and felt like I was a guest at a friend's house. The antique furnishings and comfy beds added to the charm of this lovely old house. The room was spacious with a double and single bed, as well as a coffee table, chairs, and sofa. The tea/coffee making facilities were well stocked. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and the delicious breakfast was served promptly at 7am every morning. The hosts made me feel right at home, and I loved the timeless feel of the house.
Would recommend this hotel.
